Right then...
Steve got back to me last Thursday (the 13th) as I was closing Character Connection. He told me that he couldn't let me transfer as Innoventions was too understaffed. He did, however, say that what he could do would be to let me drop to three days a week at Innoventions-and then do three days a week at the Magic Kingdom. So, that was great.
On Friday, though, he called me to his office, and he said that he had talked to Holly and, as I'd only be at the Magic Kingdom a short time, they wouldn't be putting me on an attraction. Instead, I'd be working Park Greeter (i.e. turnstiles) and PAC (Parade Audience Control). That was... not so great, but I suppose, it's the Magic Kingdom-beggars can't be choosers.
I did email Holly on Saturday night though, asking if there was any chance that I could be on an attraction (any attraction), I'd jump at it. Probably won't happen (as in, I'm 99.99999% sure it won't), but there was no harm in asking, I suppose.
In other news, Mum, Dad, Órla and Aoife arrived on Friday. I really wanted to see them, even though I had worked from 9 that morning (had Safety In Motion training), so I went to get the D bus to see them-5 minutes after I had got home from work. But, the D bus never arrived. So, I hopped on the A bus to the Magic Kingdom, got off at the Ticket and Transportation Center, got a monorail to the Magic Kingdom entrance and got a bus from there to Saratoga Springs where they're staying.
Dad met me at the bus stop and walked me over to the room. I was a smidge emotional seeing them, but by the time they read this, they'll be home, so they'll never know. Mwahahahahaha. We chatted all about everything and they gave me a bag full of Irish chocolate and the such. Mmm...
So, Dad dropped me home that night, and all was fab. The next day, I worked till 8:30, and they met me afterwards to go to the Ale House (which was delicious, as always). We invited Brynna along, and as we were leaving, we met Shayna who has dropped off the map... We were originally going to Celebration for food, but when we got there, it was closed. Bloody creepy town and it's annoying operating hours.
On Sunday, we couldn't go anywhere exciting either, because I had training at 9 and worked till 8:30. Kurt was my trainer again, and we trained on Visa Meet & Greet, Paper Maker and Tip Board. Training rocked because 1: I love Paper Maker, 2: Tip Board took all of 5 minutes and 3: Because we had a whole day to train, and only a half a day needed, we took some LONG breaks-including borrowing some shirts from Juan (who'd have thought...) and going to see Journey into your Imagination with Figment at the Imagination Pavilion. I like that ride, it was fab. Also, on Sunday, I started squatting in an empty locker. You see, Vanessa moved lockers in the East Break Room, so there was an empty one. But Deidre, who's in charge of lockers was off, so no one could be assigned that locker till Monday of next week, so I took it. I love having a locker in the east building. It's so much more convinient. That said, on Sunday, after work, we drove back behind MK and picked up Louisa at West Clock and we all went to Perkins at the cross roads. I had fish. It was semi-ok. Not the Ale House, basically. Shanan came to see me at work (though I was on break), and her Mum and Mum's friend Brenda ROCK. I was, with a whole load of string-pulling, able to get them a No Strings Attached form for a fastpass for Soarin'. Nearly had to break legs to get it though-they were very lucky... But they said they loved it, so I was happy.
On Monday, I brought the family to MK and we went to see Louisa at the Jungle Cruise-which was down because of a storm. The same storm knocked out all the lights at Pirates of the Carribean (which she had to evacuate) and even knocked some out at Innoventions! Terribly exciting... I had to leave at 2 as I worked at 3 till Illuminations-and Louisa came to see me! Yay! Also, we had an Irish family at Illuminations, which was fun. They were all talking about the Brazilian tour groups (who I hate) and stuff. Much fun was had by all. After work, I changed and we went back to MK. There were Wilderness Lodge Cast Member people on the monorail on some quest thing to find "the chinese lantern"... We sent them to Aladdin's Magic Carpets... 'cos that's all we could think of. We watched the tail end of Wishes (including the very end backstage-which was lovely) and then headed to Cosmic Rays for food. I got two burgers & fries because I was STARVING. We didn't get to do anything else, but we did watch the Spectromagic and the Kiss Goodnight-which I love.
On the way out, I bought Mum and Dad his and hers keyrings (cos they needed new ones, it was their anniversary, and I didn't have enough money for a proper gift).
We got dropped home and I bought Chocolate Ice Cream (though not the Ben & Jerry's stuff that I really want-but they haven't had for almost a week) and went to Louisa's to eat it. Eventually, I came home, collapsed into bed and didn't get up till 3.
I work 6 till 12:15 tonight (yay Character Connection...), so wont be seeing the family today. Will be going to Wendy's tonight though, which I'm sorta looking forward to. Haven't had the whole gang together in ages. For now, though, I must go get ready...
